A Christmas hunt in Germany
      #239909 - 31/12/13 06:56 AM

This is the second time I have been invited to this great hunt in Hohenstein Gernany. First in the afternoon it is a hunt in the forest and in the afternoon it is a hunt at the fields for Roedeer. At the Fields there are some islands of forest. A great hunt with a gathering in the day before at evening with some cold meat, cheese and beer. In the morning the breakfeast is standing there. The hunt are proceeding With beaters and dogs. I did bring both of mine with me from Sweden. Lots of animals. Roedeer, Fallow deer, Red deer, Wildboars. And in the end it is the hunting dinner. Slightly updressed, we had a Whole steaked Wildboar. It is great fun. I really enjoy this!

Very good Sville. Thankyou.

What weight do the Boars run in that neck of the woods and what is the most popular caliber?

Waidmannsheil!

Thank you for posting. Curious, how did they cook the boar? I'm always interested in new recipes.

John, Beer expensive in Sweden, better fill up the car.
Buchseman, I really donīt know. But itīs not cut to pieces before we eat it.
Ripp, In Germany they donīt have that much snow, now and then, more peculiar that we donīt have snow in Sweden. Itīs + degree and no snow???
Happy New Yearto you all! In Sweden itīs still 4,5 h left.

Rhodes, I did use .308, but also sometimes use 9,3x62, 9,3x74R and .300 Win Mag. I think that 3006, 9,3x62 are rather popular Calibers in Germany. One year old Boars living weight this time a year 40-60 kg, the big female Boar maybe 80 kg and a big male Boar between 120-160 kg.

Good to see the Baron's hunt went well. Looks like it was another fun hunt.

There was some snow in Borensberg a few weeks ago,my mate snapped this pic near his home.
