last week there was ending an auction with 164 cartridges

the fine Norma berdan primed brass loaded in Otterup for target rifles. the auction stagnate for 3 weeks for 3 euro and I got some hope but in the end everyone watching this was very surprised

http://egun.de/market/item.php?id=6929961

it ended for 351 euro
thats a lot of money for 50 years old full metall jackets! instead of making brass the people need ammo firms present new childish brainchilds every year nobody want anymore/only cartridge collectors knowing in 10 years like this crap
https://rws-munition.de/fileadmin/rws/bi...A5_12seiten.pdf

thanks god I got my brass from finland today that was a lot more bang for the buck

had now the Model 38 SN 382 in my hands

with the 50 cm barrel surprising short stutzen no doubt made after the Mannlicher Schönauer M 1903 pattern
the rifle itself is much heavier because of the very strong build receiver

some of the pre war rifles, maybe all, have the stockmaker monogram behind the pistold grip

lot of Pecar/Berlin scopes around there

the bolt and receiver is different from the later M 42 that there is a hole in the bolt and a pin in the receiver behind the trigger as a additional safety. trigger will only work when the pin fit into the hole in the bolt.

to speak clearly there is NOTHING wrong with ch4d die sets, just a side note the cases sized with this die set dont fit completly into the chamber of this rifle. its the very first time that I ever heard about problems with ch4d and the problem is not realy clarified. the bolt can not completly closed, maybe 0,5mm to little. probably a chamber with minimum measurments?

dont want to talk bad about ch4d this is the exception of the rule

the stock without cap is pleasant especially in bad weather but allways delicate

stutzen M 38 SN 373 in 8x58RD

bolt was modified with a new bolt sleeve

not my cup of tea because I trust in the wing safety but other want it more modern

M 42 in 8x57IRS, SN 1219
https://www.lauritz.com/de/auktion/schul...x57jr/i5964394/

looks like it got a Wehrmacht K98k barrel, muzzle brake looks very martial. wonder if the extractor was changed because there is a real difference between 8x58RD and 8x57IRS

Bitten Clauson. Never have heard of her. Had a look on the internet, and other than the book image shown in the images regarding Africa, all that seems to be on the internet is she was a rich Danish industrialist. I assume she hunted in Africa around 1953.

Interesting - and a .378Weath.Mag. Couldn't have licked a harder kicking bolt gun.

never see this scope mount before
makes sense on a bolt action using a mannlicher clip. you fold the scope away, loading the clip and fold the scope back.

I like that roll away mount, the concealed peep is a nice touch too.

Wood work is pristine!
A blueing job & it would be a pretty spiffy piece of kit!
Is that an extra sized magazine Lancaster?
