The Shooting Gazette.

I read a few issues of an English magazine named: "The Shooting Gazette" some weeks ago at a family members house. Seemed like a good magazine, with lots of highend guns to drool over...

Any of you subscribe to it? What's the general impression? Worth it or not?

Erik

We can pick it up over-the-counter at newsagencies here in Oz, I grab a copy if the articles are of special interest, but its a bit expensive due to our lousy currency exchange rate against the 'poownd'. Its certainly a high-quality publication, slight tendency to be a little snobbish for colonial tastes, and sometimes devotes too many pages to gundogs at the expense of fine guns.

Still, I could certainly change a lightbulb standing on my stack of Gazettes collected over the years!

Well my friend, you certainly do have a "way with words", I'm still laughing 10 min. later. Thankyou for the good laugh, SP2 ( I have gotten a VERY GOOD "visual" of your statement)

I flick through it, to see if there are any articles of interest.

I agree with the Aussies, it is rather expensive and caters for the carriage trade end of the market - £1000/ a day / gun driven grouse shooters.

You can get a feeling for the target readership from the advertisements. Still, it is nicely put together on heavy, good quality paper.
