CZ 550 Safari, Win model 70, or Ruger 77 RSM

Which of these do you recommend?
Also do you recommend a 416 REM, OR 416 Rigby?
What are the advantages and disadvantges of each?
Is the pressure really a problem with the 416 Rem?

I've never owned a CZ, but from what I've read, with a little tweaking are a good, solid, functional rifle. I have a couple of Model 70s that I'm quite satisfied with. I also own a Ruger 77 in 416 Rigby. It's a little heavy, but that weight helps manage the recoil. I don't have any experience with the 416 Remington, so I'll let others comment on it.

The differences between the three rifles can be a little subjective but I'm a M-70 fan all the way.

The .416 Rem and the .416 Rigby do the same thing. They throw the same bullet at the same velocity....so what's the difference?

As far as pressures go I'm very confused by those that tout the .375 H&H and the .458 Lott and then turn their backs on the .416 Remington that operates at the same pressure. There's more than a shovelful of bullshit here.

Having said all that I'm a traditionalist and that means I'd rather have a .416 Rigby in a M-70 and it's just not to be. Not available!! However the .404 Jeffery is availanle (soon) and it's all the .416 Rigby ever was and a little more.....maybe....

I like cz's and I like the Rigby....but I am biased I suppose. Some like the rem as it can be done in the smaller package.

I've handled the Ruger, I own the CZ and everyone knows the good reputation of the Winchester. I agree the Ruger seems extra heavy, good for recoil but ya got to lug that beast around all day and you only shoot it for a split second. The Winchester is supposedly really nice but at what price. Go with the CZ and spend another hundred or so at the gunsmith and I think you'll be truly pleased. I am!
