This was on one of the Aussie sites today and did not last long.

My first attempt at photo loading so hopefully it works. Apologies if it is bad quality however it was the only image there.

Out of interest I rang and asked about the lack of irons. The shop was selling on consignment for the owner and the guy in the shop told me it was built that way (without iron sights). As has been said before on this forum you can get want you want as the buyer however I cannot imagine getting Rigby to build me a 275 without traditional sights.
What do others think?
Rick

IMO it needs iron sights too.

Igorrock...From looking at the pictures you have listed on your photobucket account, you have a much better taste in women than you have in rifles!

This is what Paul Roberts deemed to be a proper "up to date" .275 Rigby in the 1980s. Got an old Rigby promotional video tape "Classic Deer Stalking". It features a like .275 Rigby rifle with such a mc stock, a Zeiss scope on a non-detacheable Redfield type mount and without open sights.

I think Mr Roberts needs to be put over a knee and given a firm spanking.

It is certainly a confronting style to traditionalists.

The premier gunmakers all made firearms to 'fashionable' styles during those years per customer orders ...

When I was in my teens I remember thinking the Weatherbys with the white diamond shaped inlays and extreme monte carlo stock where the most beautiful things I had ever seen so go figure. Glad my tastes have mellowed.

If you put my Parker Hale 1200 .308 Norma beside that rifle NitroX has shown it would be a dead ringer!
Like Claydog - that's all we had available (non military Mauser) to us 30 years ago & they shot really well, guess that's way we like them so much! (yes I'm the first to admit those stocks are gaudy now)
Those old Parker Hale rifles were a really good solid unit - shame they closed shop!

First of all thanks to Igorrock for fixing up my image paste at the start of this post.

Can someone tell me why my image post did not work and only the code appeared. What did I do wrong?
Thanks
Rick
