That looks like a throw back to some other maker who
used to do that "raised band" type of thing for the
rear sight.

I think it might have been Thomas Bland.

Agree 500 Nitro, a few dings makes any gun more attractive.

A very tidy set up.

The Boss .275 Stephen posted had the scallops on each side of the rear sight. It must be a little "Boss" touch.

Comments from the earlier thread:

"There seems to be some controversy about Boss bolt action rifles :

Boss have only ever built "IN HOUSE" one bolt action rifle.

It is in 300H&H on a takedown action.

It is marked "FIRST BOLT ACTION RIFLE" Serial number "10300"

It has a good Australian home!

Boss did however embellish ,modify ,restock or engrave the odd rifle for special customers.

Nordmann

I know.

But unless a gun is kept totally unused and in pristine condition in a gun cabinet, then as per Claydog, I think they add character.

I can normally put a date and reason for most of my dents and nicks.

I even have the gun stock from an H&H that has Leopard teeth marks and scratches on it !!!

That was one nice rifle. On those quiet nights when the breeze drops and there is a deathly silence I wonder what became of Nordmann. There was a poster who knew how to rub people. Usually the wrong way.

I don't believe Nordman's website even exists anymore? And the listings it used to have in jamesedition.

I am wondering also what has become of Nigel/500nitro?

I have tried his emails and his telephone numbers and searches on the net using his name. Nothing. Anyone know what has happened to him?

Nigel had some mighty impressive rifles, if i recall. Wouldnt mind meeting him some day if he's keen.

Nordmann i can live without.
