There is for sale such a rifle, the broken stock is original and the another Rigby`s for FN normal lenght action. IMO the carvings over the action looks quite rude, so what do you think, is it a real one or just a bad copy ?

The whole ensemble is to my view a mad bad copy.
Concerning the action alone (looks like transitional ) I am not quite sure.

Never seen Rigby's engraved like that before but a better, closer up photo would help.
I'd say beware.
Buy it as a 7x57 with no premium !

It appears that the engraving is only stating that the rifle is built to take the Rigby cartridge, not that the rifle is built by the Rigby company.
That broken stock is for a takedown rifle. Does the barrel lug which is forward of the rear sight fix to a piece of furniture in the forward part of the broken stock? The front scope mount should be on the action ring for a barrel takedown rifle.

Thanks for your comments. I don´t want to buy this rifle because I soon have a small ring m98 project going.

the shape of the trigger looks to be rigby, the front sight is not a traditional early rigby ,but is a sight that ive seen on another owned by ken waters in 7x61 ,,styling from the 50s ,,its only lately that gunbuilders have been using the "275 rigby " instead of 7mm so seeing that this gun is obviously at least from the 50s its could be original from rigbys ,,send a pic to paul roberts at jefferies he may be able to help ,,...paul
