Some very Teutonic styled double rifles.

Opening bid is €9,000. I wonder what it ends up as. As many here know, I lust over a scoped .375 Flanged Mag as my "world hunting double rifle". A lighter weight handy double rifle able to be used if needed for dangerous game, or a plains rifle. Even longer ranges even if used as a single barrel shot.

What a monstrosity! Awful scope set up. Too far back. Too large. Like a wart on a beautiful woman's face.

Gross mount bases. More warts on her face.

As suspected the mount bases are at least grooved to allow open express sights use.
But ugly from above as well. Sloppy ugly screw heads from the hardware store to boot. Not even lined up

The guncase is nice.
It will be interesting to see how the price goes. A real H&H in .375 Fl Mag would be quite special.
I wonder if those awful mount bases could be replaced discretely?
A problem with these Germanic scopes, is they are becoming sonrediculously large. Over the top for a double rifle. As much as I'd prefer a Germanic quality scope I'd probably gonforbsn illuminated Leupold of more petite dimensions, maybe a 1-4x.
Also if this original setup regulates and with what bullet, load?
Look at the beautiful lines of that rifle. And the huge witches wart protruding from it's chin twice the size of the witches head ...

Not only is the scope setup like a huge wart, it is set far back enough to poke you in the eye.

I read these mounts were H & H mount bases. Didn't realise H & H had such garous mount bases.
Dorleac has a .300 Mag H&H double with the same. I'll post links.

If it's a "flanged magnum" then it must have been rechambered from .375 2 1/2 if it was made in 1906. Agree about the unsightly scope mounts, otherwise a lovely rifle.

Non original stock (never seen such a pancake cheekpiece on a H&H double rifle), renewed color case hardening, later model H&H scope mount...with non indexed screws. Don't ever speak about the scope and as says degoins I suspect this poor rifle has ben re-chambered from .375-2½"

Starting at 9,000 Euro = $10,124 USD, then shipping and import duties……plus recent US Federal (and now Colorado) taxes, be interesting to know what it sells for.
I wonder what info H&H has in their records. 5.28kg =11.64 lb so in my opinion a proper weight, in the day, for the .375 Flanged Mag however the original proof marks are softened/obscured. Surely a reproof if nothing else.
I could accept the restock cheekpiece, however that scope is truly an abomination.
