George Rushby's firearms
      #229268 - 24/04/13 03:02 PM

I am currently reading "The Hunter is Death" by T.V. Bulpin and it makes me wonder what happened to George's firearms. Being such an accomplished African hunter his firearms should not be allowed to fall into obscurity.

He makes reference to a .577 (they mention the make but I don't have the book in front of me) double that he used when elephant hunting, a double barrelled 9.3 magnum (that's how it's discribed) and a .404 magazine gun.

The 9.3 was sold to finance leave in England and he was unable to buy it back after he came back to Tanganyika.

He used the 9.3 double and the .404 while sorting out the Njombe maneaters.

They're out there somewhere.

His .577 was a Stensby and he was also a .318 user.
