Outfitters who hunt mobs of ferals
      #22757 - 28/12/04 05:08 PM

Does anyone know of any outfitters whom hunt large mobs of ferals these days? Most outfitters have feral game hunts but does anyone allow umlimited shooting of goats and pigs and maybe roos AND actually have those sorts of numbers like in the good old days"?

Back in the days when a feral goat hunt yielded a couple hundred goats or a pig hunt of 60 or 70 pigs? How about a hundred roos in a night?

John ,it should be remembered that goats and pigs in big numbers are usually a comercial propersition.
Goats are mustered for slaughter and export.
Pigs are shot and delivered to a freezer for export to Germany.
And finally kangaroo's can only be shot under license legally..
All are worth money so why would you allow some one to go out and slaughter dozens of animals just for the sake of it.

Exactly why I am asking. In the "good old days" you could. Now I am asking if anyone still lets you do it.

Kangaroos can be shot in numbers under a pest control, no pick-up type permit. They have to be left to rot.

What about pro roo shooters ,those who shoot for skins and carcasses. I used to know a fair few but ,they never wanted to take anyone else. Are there any out there who take other shooters out for a bit of extra money. I heard of someone who did it last year ,but he was after real big bucks to get someone to help him shoot roos for skins and carcasses
