Have any of you seen one of these ???

http://www.eme421.com/SAR.html

A few years ago I was up at a crossing town on a fugitive search and one of the BC SAR guys had one. Thought it was kinda cool. Have half-heartedly searched for one since.

Of course McMillan claims to know nothing of them making the stock for it, nor will they sell one if they did know.......A 20" barreled 375R in one of these may get me a invite to 458WIN's camp some spring.

I have not seen one, and judging from the color...I'd remember

Interesting concept. Be handy as hell for guys climbing in and out of planes and choppers and vehicles all day.

I've never seen one before.

Length (butt folded) 25.37 inches.

I do not see where the butt folds?

Length butt extended 35inches.

Thus when folded, it is .63" too short to be a legal hunting rifle in Canada - if they wanted to get picky.

This rifle therefore is or could be a restricted rifle (must be registered), same as a hangun, which means it can only be taken to and discharged at approved ranges - by civilians.

The barrel length of 14" is OK, but the overall length with folded butt is too short. On a solid stock with over 26" overall length, it would be OK.

This rifle I believe was made in very limited quantities for the Royal Canadian Airforce search and rescue guys in case they run into a angry grizz or polar bear.

Yes, it was indeed a "as need by mission" issued weapon for the SAR tech's in B.C. They are not privately owned so are not subjected to the rules and regulations of the current gun laws.
The butt stock folds behind the pistol grip to the non-bolt handle side

The one I seen was with the flight operator. It fit in a nylon "sock" on the side of his pack. This was during a internationally attended fugitive search. I had "dispatched" the operational objective and He had winched me up on a canopy penetrator.

We talked "around the fire" after a briefing for quite some time. He was very gun savvy, outdoors-y (sporting wise) just a good guy to visit with. Most Operators I met at that time where in capable in the Bush, but not hunters or sporting men at all. All survival, no enjoyment of the out of doors.

They kept a supply of Imperial 180gr SaberTips for them.

That is cool.

Would make a great Quad/ATV or motorbike farm gun
although I reckon .308 would be better in most
places for farms.
