This is a very good site if you want to check out various binoculars before you purchase them. Their analysis is the most in depth I have seen. Very few (none!) of the binoculars tested (and there are many) had the light performance that was advertised. Check it out.

Birder sites are also very good at critiquing optics. I have never found a hunting site that was very technical or analytical.

Went there and the site looked nice but didn't see a single review while poking around.

Yes, bird watchers are very good at critiquing binos.

Feathers on birds are a superb way of judging binos.

Agree re the birders. They spend hours looking thru binos in all sorts of conditions / cover etc. They should have a pretty good idea.
