Weekend Boar / Wall Hanger

Hunted a new place this weekend lots of promise. Wet has been very slow so hard to find pigs, plenty of access to areas as water levels still low. Managed to get three for the weekend. two sows and a boar. all taken with the 7x57 and factory 145's. All dropped on the spot.
Interesting wall hanger at the property. Heres a few pics. Mick
Any one know what the old machine gun is?

.303 from the barrel. Maybe off an aircraft.

Yes maybe turret mounted by the remains of the heat shroud and I have seen the shiny/polished (not sure of the material) muzzle extension on some photo's of quad mounted rear turrets from WWII. Just my thoughts of course I claim no expert knowledge.

At first glance I would have thought it appears to be a .50 Cal BMG? But on closer look see the heat shroud/cover used to the full length on the barrel but has rusted off. So maybe K and V are right, a .303 and off a plane.

Looks like a M1919 and many were made in .303

Found an image of one in better shape. An aircraft mounted version of the browning M1919 in .303 caliber.
