A point of interest- I'm not needing this done, but-- On a Jones underlever rifle, if it is off face, how is it tightened? I would assume the normal pin replacement or hook welding, whichever school you come from. But- when a Jones goes loose, and this can be the draw down done by the lever, can the drum that the lever rotates be shimmed, or built up, to draw down further? This seems to be a different looseness than off face, and looks like the solution could be specific to the Jones? In other words, the Jones can come off face, increasing headspace, without the lockup coming loose, as I see it?

Another question, has anyone seen a Jones off face or loose in the draw down?

This for my own understanding of the differences in function between this and other locking systems.

Thanks, Doug

Yes,I have a early H.Holland .450 BPE that suffered greatly in India. The pin and hook were both worn, built the pin up with tig and lathe turned it,as well as the hook. The screw,(or drum)also had worn spot that was built back up with weld, and finally the bolt,(lugs on barrels)were also rebuilt and fitted. If your barrels are on face and the under lever travels to far --it's worn.
I tend to think with proper cleaning and lube, the Jones under lever would be difficult to wear out.
