Rifle arrived today. Unfortunately a little damaged in transit. There's a small crack at the stock toe that I can address, but the bigger issue is that the rear claw mount base's grasping lever's cross piece cracked, letting one of the two grasping surfaces fall off the rifle. I have the missing piece. Now I need an internet source showing how these were put together back in the day to see how difficult a repair might be, especially given the fact that would still leave me with a mount and no scope fit to that mount, which is the longer putt.

I'll post pics after I have the stock off and can see any marks below the wood line. That will be in a new thread in this subforum (Mausers).

Regards,
Chris

So while it appears jpeg files will post to that other forum that focuses on double guns, I've not been able to get an image posted here unless it's a jpg (not a jpeg). According to the Google, these are exactly the same format, except for the extension. Older computers can only handle 3 letter extensions. But jpg and jpeg are the same technology format ( Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG))
