Does anyone know offhand the original overall laoded length of this round with the 270gr bullet?

I believe it was 3.10".

3.09" - 3.095" as per the five original Kynoch softs here on my bench.

I'll measure one of the original Kynoch full jacket rounds for you as soon as I can get at them (Christmas has disturbed the house somewhat).

And I agree with Tinker, please tell us about your rifle. Mine is a 1902 Webley.

Thanks for your interest, all of you. My rifle is a work in progress. It will be a Lee Speed re-creation on an 1896 Lee Enfield action. The shot- out .303 barrel is on its way to be re- born as a 375-303 with an overall loaded lenght of 2.9" so as to come close to the original 375/2 1/2 NE. I will keep you posted as it progresses

That sounds like a fun project.
Just load them to whatever maximum length will function in your magazines. From there chamber and throat as you like.

Post photos of your project as it rolls through the various stages of completion.
