I will be happy to send the "building double rifles on shotgun actions" book to anyone who is interested enough to pay the postage!

In my very first post, I made a very muted mention of my dissapointment in this book and immediatly drew a crowd of critics so don't ask me why I want to give you the book. If your interested, P.M me with your address particulars.

Mike

Alasgun,

Sorry you were dissapointed in Ellis' book.

For us budding builders of double rifles on shotgun actions, and to provide Ellis with an idea of material he should include in his next edition, could you please tell us about the shortcomings of the book.

It may be aspects of building double rifles that, those of us who've never done it, might not have considered.

It saddens me to see the state our country is in. The overall rudeness of folks nowdays is appaling and the horray for me, screw you mentality is something I'll never get use to.

Im only 62 so I cant remember "way back" but I can remember when these problems weren't as prevelant and it makes me feel for the grandkids, knowing the world they will grow up in.

Almost a year ago, i offered a "free book" to the forum members and simply asked that the recipient pay the postage. That didn't seem too much to ask for an $84 dollar book. A taker cropped up immediatly and in good faith I sent the book then I waited and waited to here whether or not it was recieved and finally sent a follow up message and was told "Oh yea, my neighbor picked it up, bla bla, bla and I'll get you a check out later this week.

My concern and the follow up was to see if it got there and that concern was based on the fact I had told someone I would do something!

Month's later, I've realized I got hosed. Hosed for something around 5 bucks! To me this is a principal thing and has nothing to do with a few dollars postage.

Hopefully this high standing member of your forum is a little red faced and get's some sh-t from his budd's.

Mike

Soory to hear thst it went south for you Mike.
There's bad everywhere. Several of us got hosed about some gun parts too. You're not the first nor will be the last.
Contact NitroX via PM and lay out the details. He'll handle it.

Mike,

I know very little about this "Free Book" saga, but I can vouch that the man you sent the book to is a good and honorable person. Evidently there was a mixup in delivery. He may have been slow in responding. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean he "hosed" you or did anything dishonorable. We all let details fall through the cracks on occasion.

I'm not starting or inviting an argument here. I just happen to know who you are accusing, and I know him to be of high character. You are mistaken in your assumptions about him. So please, take my word for that.

I also suspect you have formed an unfavorable impression of NitroExpress.com. I urge you to join in and give this community another chance. This is a good group of people who do our best to maintain high standards of civility. We make mistakes and don't always maintain the high standards to which we aspire. Still, we try.

So come on aboard and take part. You will like it here. If in the end you decide I am wrong, you have lost nothing.

Sincerely,
Roscoe Stephenson

I believe this issue will shortly become a non-issue with everything settled.
