Thanks K re the photos. Hopefully Wayne's are better!

My camera also gave up at the end, probably from getting some rain inside. Used the video camera as video and camera from then on. I want to splice together the 'action' scenes from the video footage into something exciting. Nothing like a good action youtube video to promote the discipline.

To any BGRC guys out there lurking. This is NOT the time not to join in. For one thing I would like to have all the persons named and if they are willing, (or you if one) what you are shooting, even if just the calibre. The photos represent a good opportunity to promote the club and discipline.

I'll get the guys joined who said they tried to use hotmail or gmail to join and were unsuccessful. Actually I will reallow these email accounts to be used for membership, but people MUST MENTION WHAT THEIR INTEREST IS! ie BGRC, doubles, hunting whatever. In the BIO, thanks. The usual applicant from gmail wants to promote porn! (ie spammers).

Anyone else from the BGRC that wants to join but has been unsuccessful, just mention you are from the BGRC. Branch would be good too.

K, I've learnt (from experience ) that a rifle that fits and and is mounted properly, recoils into the shoulder and is much less painfull than one that doesn't fit and/or is not mounted properly. That often drives ones thumb into ones nose, and that hurts

Great photos John, Thanks for that.

The silver No.1 (read not blued yet) is my group 3 rifle in 500NE.

The No.1 I'm using beside Geoff McDonald is an almost stock 375H&H.

Interestingly when I took the 375 No.1 out for the "Special Snap" (8 shots in 35 seconds) I was told by one guy, (who is a top shot and a top bloke too by the way) "That can't be done with a single shot can it". "Watch and learn mate" I told him, "Watch and learn".

Not only did I manage get all the shots away with two or three seconds to spare, I actually managed to get second place for that event, with the "slow" single shot. All the shots were in the 9 and 10 ring bar one little bugger that I skillfully dropped down into the 6 ring. No matter though, it was a great day.

Best
ALEX

PS. Off the crutches now so the "Quad Pod" camera stand is no longer necessary

Details matter!

Alex,

I was thinking more of the consequences of catching your rifle on clothes whilst under a charge from D.G.

I do a bit of sporting clays to remind me of the drill. (and a lightweight Henry falling block to "hammmer home" the point)

Again, excellent pics.

CptCurl
You would have had a great time.

You and the bride are expected to be here next year for the British makers day.

We had a great day at the Nationals! with some really great guns good shooting and the cameraderie of everybody present.
None of it would have happened without the volunteers who jumped in and did anything and everything that was required to make it a smooth flowing day.
The scorers ,range officers, target runners , and what about that spectular lunch that Amelia Kenny cooked up for us
Pea and ham hock soup as well as smoked salmon soup .Wonderful on a cold wet day.
Curried Venison ( Sambar)Stew,Roast Lamb and Gravey rolls
Wine Trifle'
Muffins
Scones strawberry jam & cream.

WOW WHAT A LUNCH. THANK YOU AMELIA and your kitchen helper Jan Wright.

The Photagraphers John Hahn and Wayne Russell
Also the hard working crew from our hosts .The Blue Hills Range.

Thank you all for your help.
