98 Mauser Claw Mount?
      #212365 - 09/07/12 11:05 AM

I've been bouncing around on the net, looking for a set of claw mount bases suitable for the rifle shown in Caliber Question?. Something old (pre WW1) but good would be a plus. PM me if you have some / someone, a smithy perhaps, I could contact. Thank you. --- John303.

John, its hard to say how old claw mount parts are because they dont realy change in the last 100 years. I dont now if you or your gunmaker have the skill's to make a claw mount but there is a new firm in the fatherland making claw mount parts being 100% exchangeable and ready.

claw mounts are an art of itself. I would recommand you to take this new made parts. there is not realy a difference to old parts!

Thank you lancaster, I'll look into it, but my preference is still "old" / used. In my stumbling around net I realized the there was not much change from old to new. if any. I saw the odd ones for sale but that was before I needed a pair. --- John
