A friend in Zimbabwe has located a couple of rifles that I dearly want to grab. The problem is I am having trouble finding an agency that is willing to bother with importation of just two rifles.. I tried U.S customs and BATF with dismal results. Any one tried this before, and who did you use? The rifles can be hand carried in December or January
Thanks..

Try www.simpsonltd.com . The person I deal with is Mark , I believe they want to scale down importing but I would phone them and tell them the situation you are in and they should be able to help. What type of firearms do you want to import from Zim. ? Steve

Are those thing more than 50 years old? Should be. And as long as they were never government owned or issued, you could probably do the importation youself if you have a Curio and Relic's license.
You could also contact Leroy's Big Valley Gun in Glasgow, Mt. 406-228-4867. They do all my import work. If you call them tell them Douglas Dickens referred you. That will get them talking. Email is leroygun@nemontel.net
I can tell you as an importer they will go the extra mile for you. I have dealt with them on the Importation/exportation of a couple hundred guns and they have their act together.
You may not be able to get the import license in time, if you are shooting for December-January. Ask Denise and Leroy what they can do. By the way the guns will have be delivered to what ever importer you use and they will have to be marked with the importers stamp. Leroy generally marks them under the wood. I can also tell you from a professional stand point they were not a company that I looked at as a potential violater.

very nice rifles, I just thought there may be sanctions on trade between Zim. and US and maybe Australia you best check that out. Might be better to export from RSA. If the deal falls down let me know. I would like to get them myself. Thanks
Steve
