Ultralight wood and blued steel rifles
      #20885 - 14/11/04 05:51 PM

I have no idea what these rifles cost, but the idea of ultralight rifles made in wood and steel and without the plastic and titanium that seem to be becoming more and more popular these days, looks really appealing to my old fashioned eye. I wonder what other members here think about these beauties:

Hi Mehulkamdar.

Yes, these are certainly my sort of rifles but then being British perhaps that's not surprising. Although not a true lightweight, I could certainly live with the "Klassik" in 8x64.

Prices on the web site look typical for this sort of quality European rifle at around €3000. But by the time you have shipped the gun, paid the duty, and given the current euro / dollar exchange rate this would be quite an expensive rifle in the US. But they do look nice.

Martin

Hello Martin,

The rifles look beautiful no matter where you're from.

I like the shortened magazine in particular. The comparable US made rifles are very expensive and would definitely be way beyond my budget, though.

Good hunting!

Yes. This concept interest me too. I have been thinking about a .260 Rem built on a short action classic model 70 (because I like CRF actions) in a light weight shock with a thin 22" barrel. I think this would be a good light little mountain rifle.

Perhaps I'm just dreaming

Cheers & God bless,
