My Latest 450 NE DR
      #207822 - 29/04/12 09:23 AM

Strictly as a joke I built this 450 NE DR falling block.
I hope you guys will appreciate the 'bubba' aspect of it!

577500WR helped me set it up and did the photography!

edit; the one on the right is a Boddington series that I recently bought from our own 'poprivit'.

Nice! Are you bringing it on your buffalo cull this year? Cal might as well leave his .600 at home.

No, Sadly I'm afraid that the customs folks down your way might get confused with too many serial numbers. I'll bring my Sercy 450 DR.

Thinking outside the box a bit more I could also fabricate a quad rifle (2 DR's)with a unique over/under, side by side configuration! Hmmmmmm

I'll have to decide how to work the sights with this new idea... Along side the barrels

I have to admit being a bit curious about this creation. Will you change from right to left shoulder when you fire the left hand barrel, or is there some sort of mechanism which allows you access to the left trigger from the right side? I have to admit that I prefer the idea of changing shoulders. A video clip of your creation in action would be a big help.

This technique has some interesting possibilities. Mating a right hand bolt action with a left hand version comes to mind, or a couple of top ejection lever actions, perhaps? Combining two Savage Model 24's would give you two shot and two rifle barrels to work with, an instant Vierling!

As with any new creation, (especially mine) there seem to be a few bugs that still need to be worked out..

Before I got my Merkel double .500NE, I used-to joke that my Ruger No.1 .450/400 3" NE was "half a double"!

Apparently you neglected to read the instructions: Silver Duct Tape is to be used exclusively with Stainless Steel doubles. For blued guns, only shiny electrical tape or the new black Duct Tape is correct.

Jeessh Max,,
This is a low budget operation. I've gotta work with what's on hand. I figured that if theres a call for those ugly stainless ones I'd use the 200 MPH aluminum tape. This is only the prototype.

The black Gorilla Tape wouldn't show up as well in the pictures!

The only thing you forgot was a 20 foot chain with one end tied to your new rifle and the other to the gunwale on your boat.

Lord, you sure stirred up a load of canada with your .450 "double rifle" Lucky you live way up in Alaska where you can't do much harm. Now you just need to take one of them to Africa. How 'bout a relatively inexpensive non-trophy ele hunt? Or, you just gonna' use those things on Ptarmigan?

Hey, I've still got a .416. Lets go to the Dark Continent.

I've started my 'bucket list' a little early, my big trip is to Oz this year Tom. Hopefully Africa will be in the next year or two. I'll rely on my Searcy or A. Hollis 450's for that trip too.
