Fatboy- had mates up from Albury. They had taken there buff with bows. Barney took the cow and got charged as soon as he hit her. Watto took the bull from 17m with 1 arrow, bull took four steps , wavered for afew seconds and went down. It was the best bow kill ive seen on bulls. We had just finished the carry out and were stuffed . locals Allan and brother wanted more meat so we did a drive out onto the floodplains. Approx 130 head on our side of the channel. The cow was spotted and taken for her unusual horns. Also took a calf for meat.
Unusual horns were fairly common on some of the areas I hunted, but not swept back like goat horns. Allan and brother went a bit boo-ey after the comment of Devil devil horns.
this hunt was in arnehm land.
We didnt hunt the floodplains much with the bows. Concentrated on the billabongs up on the high ground. More cover with plenty of good old bulls around. Hunted Sept and it was fairly dry.
The area was being flogged out by the buff.
Area was mustered the year after we hunted it.
Not many pigs in this area, but what we did find were of a good size. Cheers Mick
