WANTED: Info on replacement sling swivels for a Mauser M03

WANTED: Info on replacement sling swivels for a Mauser M03 Extreme.

I have a Mauser M03 Extreme model, the plastic stocked model. It has fixed sling swivels in the butt and on the front end of the fore-end.

I am interested in replacing them with detachable sling swivels. Anyone know of any replacement swivels which would work?

It may be a simple matter to replace them, but first just asking if anyone has replaced them and what they used.

It seems silly to me for Mauser to use fixed swivels on such a rifle today. The fore-end might look at bit silly with a swivel stud facing forward on the fore-end though when the sling is not attached.

Is glue strong enough for the bases?

I have used both, screw and glue. RECKNAGEL has a large selection of this kind of swivels so go and look their cataloque (page 18):

How else are Mauser supposed to sell the 20mm wide "extreme sling" (with built in QD toggles) made for them by Niggeloh if they didn't still fit fixed 20mm loops?

Sorry, have to laugh as I imported their Deluxe leather sling only to find I needed 20mm to Uncle Mikes stud swivels to stop it looking like an abortion - the swivels were almost as much as the sling
