Found these blokes a long way off on a far hill.



Then all I saw of this sambar was as shown.Going on the very dark pelage i would say it has cojones.

Long way off , could be same 2 stags , again short , one younger than the other by body mass, at this time of year & if food is plentful I should say .

I dont know the blood line in your area or what it can do , in some areas that might be as long/big as they get ?

Nice to see them , but dont like they chances in that open spot !

That open spot is a small clear surrounded by 1000`s of acres of bush sarg. Bloody hard to find them when ya want.

Ooh! Thats a hard one Staffan,at times of the year there can be 50 in 100 HA, at other times there can be 2 in the same area.
When the blackberry leaves turn brown the deer come into the creek systems where the berries are thick and flog them for a month,they mob up then and then disperse when the berry bushes change again.They only eat the leaves and not the berries.

The males, do they like Fallow deer in non breeding season and go in groups?

Yes they do but they will start to split up no pre rut.
