I've always wanted to have a 12 bore rifle. I've owned 2 double rifles in 12 bore but really like the looks of a single. I bought this Jeffery last month to rebarrel into a rifle. The barrel won't pass proof and has been sold as a stock, action and forearm only. The barrel comes with it but it will have a large hole ground into it in front of the forearm. I will have a new barrel sleeved into it. I'd like to start getting parts together now so please advise away. My thoughts on how I would like it to turn out. I want to shoot conical bullets in brass cases. I'd like a 3 leaf sight for 50, 100 and an optimistic 150. What twist rate should I be looking at? Who sells a barrel that I can buy? Any ideas on where to get a 3 leaf sight? Thanks.

I have no guns with a 3 leaf sight that I would scavage from as they are all shooters. Would anyone like to volunteer one of their's?

I was talking about the type of wrecks you find at some gun shows, pitted barrels etc as opposed to taking them off a good gun !!! LOL

Up here in Alaska we don't find many of the good guns, in bad condition, that wear leaf sights. Believe me I've looked.

or maybe Champlin Arms, I am sure they would have some as they have been in the game a long time and would bound to have wrecked some guns.

That photo looks like one of the Holt's auction photos. If so, how much trouble was it to import one of the out of proof guns? They have some good project material.

That 12bore rifle project should be a hoot!

Apr that's a nice site, will have to look into that. It was from Holt's. My importer just included it with the rest of my shipment. I believe he is submitting a form 6 for it. Total cost for the gun was £54.
