Difference in Ruger actions?

Is there any difference in the actions Ruger uses in their Mk II and Magnum rifles chambered in 300 Win? Why the price difference?

The Safari grade rifles have a quarter rib that is intrgal, they have barrel band swivel and front sight also..The wood is normally much better grade...If you had a barrel made with an integral quarter rib, it would cost you about $2500 to $3000...Not a bad deal at all, that Ruger.

I forgot to add the Magnum action is larger than the 300 Win action...The Magnum action is designed around the 416 Rigby round, therefore it will take a 505 or 500 Jefferys for that matter.

Sorry Ray, I think I should have said Ruger Express rifle; I believe these were chambered in 300 & 338 Win Mag. I take it the action is exactly the same on the MK II but like you pointed out, the barrel and sights account for the increase in price.
