Double Rifle Extractor Gun Demo

Here is a short video demonstrating the technique for reloading a Double Rifle with Extractors.

Of note is the fact that I reloaded from the belt instead of using one of the speed tricks such as holding the 2 extra rounds between the fingers or placing the rounds in the opening of the back of shooting gloves. These techniques will speed up the reload a bit but I wanted to demo the rifle as I have most often found myself using it in the field. That is to say, I've not used the speed tricks when actually stalking up to an Elephant or Buffalo. I've just reloaded from the belt.

I followed a wounded Cape Buffalo into the thick stuff once while using my 416 Rigby, but haven't done it yet with a double. I suppose I would use the speed tricks under that scenario.

The main purpose of this clip is however to demo the extractors. In recent discussions, I continue to hear mention of how slow extractors are due to the necessity to pull the brass out of the chambers. Obviously, when reloading both barrels, this is not the case. Pulling brass from a Double Rifle really only applies to reloading one barrel and in that instance, I would argue that if you are reloading a single barrel, you are not in a speed reloading situation.
