Picked up a Fox Sterlingworth--16 gauge double sxs a while back..is an incredible gun..I realize it is their cheap grade..but have to say for taking it out and chasing around behind my wirehair..it is probably my favorite shotgun to use..am now looking for others and thinking about collecting a few...

Was just wondering if anyone else on here has any experience/thoughts about them as well..???

Thank you

Ripp

My objection to American shotguns of that era is that most of them have an awful lot of drop in the stock, both at the comb and at the heel. Is this one different?

Photo please!

Not sure if this is different or not as it is the first one I personally have ever owned..however, it fits me really well... I personally much prefer this stock design with the pistol grip versus the straight english design..perhaps its just a product of what I grew up with...but again they just feel good to me..I took a couple of photos last evening per your request..these are futher away to show the stock drop and design...

Thx

Ripp

Ripp,

It looks like a great find, and the drop does not appear to be excessive. I'm curious, however, about the plug screws in the rib. Any idea what they are there for?

Bill

I did find where it stated FOX built the 16 gauge on a 20 gauge frame...which is why it handles/feels so nice to me..I have 2 other doubles I like as well a Merkel and a Browning..but I acutally like this one the most as far as overall feel..
