I will look forward to it, Jens, my friend. And you and your Mrs are going to have dinner with me when you visit Chicago. I have not visited your beautiful country since 94 and I must visit and meet many friends in all the Scandinavian countries. Hope to do it in the near future.

Yes, I've heard about out of proof guns being flogged by some very prominent names. Sad and its a credit to the old British gunmakers that they did such a good job that there haven't been any major blow ups so far even in hundred plus year old guns. Caveat emptor is a policy that works well even in these times, removed though we might be from the Roman Empire by two thousand plus years.

I THINK the Proof house shut this down in the end, or at least had a fair bit to do with making sure guns were OK before they were sent out of the country.

Not sure of the exact law and it may have been a gray area but I still believe it was illegal to sell an out of proof gun even to OS.

Yes, it does show what they were made of.
