Ruger Express Sights

Has anyone had to change the front sight on the ruger express rifle?I have had 2 express rifles and the bullets either shot low or high, whats up with that? There is no adjustment for elevation.....Also what scope will balance on the rifle the best and is it going against tradition to even scope them with those type sights....Who makes a replacement front sight that would have a bigger bead?
I like the idea of a express sight only rifle but hate all the hassle of buying new sights when the old one/new one should work......Is this normal for factory issue sights?

...necg makes replacement beads in various elevations for ruger magnum and express rifles...

...i have two magnums, and prefer dg-type tube scopes (e.g., zeiss 1.1-4, swaro 1.25-4) to maximize eye relief and to balance out the heavy front end nature of the rifles...

...as an alternative to scopes, and as an adjunct to express sights, you may wish to consider necg's peep sights that are machined for the express' rear integral scope base...

NECG (New England Custom Gun) makes replacement front sights for the Ruger. These sights come in several heights and have a larger(3/32")much more visible white bead. I too have 2 Rugers, and liked the beads so well I replaced both. They don't cost much, maybe 9 bucks, takes about 10 minutes to make the switch. On my .416 Rigby I have a 1.5-5 Leupold mounted with Warne Maxima quick release rings...very solid. You might also note that NECG makes a very sturdy aperature sight which clamps to the integral scope bases on the Ruger. It is adjustable for windage and elevation. I have one of these too. It can be used as a primary sight, or carried as a back-up in case of a scope failure.

NECG or Brownell (they handle the NECG sights) Opt for the 3/32 white bead..it works real well..

Most Rugers need the front sight replaced for some reason I don't understand...

Ray

Since I've got a few of these RSM's in different calibers, I find that the front sight is so small that it takes time to line up the front and rear sights in a hurry. The NECG front bead is a boon to OLD FARTS who like to use their iron sights every now and then.
