fefurb ?

I presume this rofle has been refurbished at some stage, the gold lettering and case hardening would be pretty rare in this condition otherwise I would have thought ?

Mike

Agree, and good to see the seller say so for once.

Very nice gun indeed.

Also, interesting gun being a C Bolt Army and Navy as they used a lot of Webley Screw Grips and PHV1's but as we all know, if the customer orders it the customer gets it !!! LOL

Surely a refinish on that one. Very nice gun though.
I would like to see the breech face to check out the dovetailed striker faces (If that is what you would call them).I dont think I have seen a gun with them set vertically. I guess with a C-bolt or any gun with a third bite they would have to be individual whether they slide in from the top or sides. I suppose that if it said Westley Richards on the side it would command another ten grand or more so not a bad price by my estimation if it all checks out OK.

The action is most certainly a WR.
I am not sure about the barrels however. For sure the sights have been mucked with. The rib is not a standard WR rib either.
It would be nice to see the proof marks.
The dovetailed breech face was fairly common on the earliest WR rifles.
The beavertail contraption is apocryphal.
