One more US Double Rifle Builder
      #196410 - 11/12/11 04:16 PM

I know nothing about Andrew Macfarlane other than that he builds guns in the beautiful city of Southlake TX where I plan to live someday. He does seem to do lovely work from the pictures on his website. Members who may know more about him and his work are welcome to post more information.

Good hunting, everyone!

My brother in law lives in South Lake. In all the times I've been down there I never would have thought to look for a gun maker of any caliber much less this in the area. Have to look him up on my next trip through the suburban jungle.

Ironscot,

Thank you - will wait for your post here after you visit Mr MacFarlane. The pictures that he has posted of a 303 double being built are exquisite. It would be nice to see what is coming out of parts of the world that are not really renowned for producing high end double rifles. To me, it is most encouraging to see more and more gunmaking talent in diverse locations around the world.

Tinker,

My pleasure, my friend. Let's wait for Ironscot's review. I love the fact that more and more double rifle builders are making this country their home.

Good hunting, gentlemen!

That is interesting I had never heard of that shop. I like to find all the local shops as you never know what you might find. I will be droping by after the DSC show this weekend. Don’t foreget Bailey Bradshaw in Diana Texas. He is a great blade smith as well as a talented double rifle maker. http://www.bradshawgunandrifle.com/Home_Page.php

I'd love to get my hands on one of these rifles. I've exchanged an email or two with Bailey. He seems like an excellent person and his workmanship is fantastic! The price of these rifles is extremely reasonable too! From what I've found they start at about $8,000 and go up. That's a pretty decent price for a quality double rifle!!

I live about twenty miles from South Lake,Texas, and will take a little trip there to look him, and his shop over! His web-site doesn't tell me much, with nothing but tiny stock photos with no links to see his double rifles!

Thank you, Mac. There's some pics of a 303 double rifle that he is building which looks nice. Will wait for your report along with my good friend Tinker.
