I have done some work on restocking my .318 Westley. Sorry for the quality of the photos, no decent place to take them in the time that I have. Still lots to go. Please be gentle as this is my first restock job. I have already seen things that I would do different if I had the chance. But, that's what mistakes are: experience.

Hi Casper50,
That is looking good, I would have personally used 'Buffalo Horn' for the tip as it would have given a nice contrast however, every-one has different tastes but other than that I do not have the talent to criticize your work, Well done,
Cheers,

Jeff I couldn't find a large enough piece of horn for the tip. I'm thinking of removing the coco bolo and replacing it with rosewood.

Ebony would work well, Casper50. It is available solid black, or with black with brown streading tones.

I think that Daryl has suggested a good alternative in Ebony,

Rare and unusual hardwoods are rarer than gold up here in Alaska and worth almost as much. I just ordered a piece of ebony off of Ebay.

Try calling Hardware Specialitys in Anchorage.(Good folks and they're across the street from me) They stock some exotic woods. Maybe they have a chunk?
