Great photo Gryph.

That's exactly why I like to go fox shooting now, dumb cubs and you can normally get the whole lot (as in all the cubs) plus mum at the same time.

Great photos of some fox cubs. Being a farmer whose family used to have chickens, turkeys and lambs, I rarely would have taken photos, but reach for a shotgun or rifle instead.

Since we don't have any of those farm stock anymore, foxes instead of a nightly visitor now are encountered only monthly perhaps. Though no doubt are there somewhere most nights. Later in the season, they used to like the ripening grape berries and could often be found in the vineyards. Especially if any grapes were left hanging. Probably a good place to look in autumn now with grapes often unpicked.

I know our European members have a great difference in opinion and culture and regard foxes are great hunting trophies, hunting them sportingly.

I used to have a favourite hunting place, where an old cottage was abandoned and near it fallen pine trees hid a fox warren where in Spring cubs could often be sighted. Later young stupid foxes shot easier near there as well. Had some good and productive ponds in the creek for ducks as well. But now the house has been re-occupied again the wildlife is mostly gone and definitely no shooting.

Great photos of the cubs. I really enjoyed them.

Hi Gryphon,

Another "Great" photo, have you considered entering photographic competitions, some of those you have showed us are potential winners.

Cheers Mate,

Thanks Jeff..when I get the 'right" pics mate.

I have had three maybe four cover shots done and of course my snake pics in the gaiter ad.
Most people that like a camera in their hands put lots of time in and I`m no different. I often stalk deer with a tripod/camera in my left and my rifle in the other as I dont want to miss a pic opp.
Just about to leave now for another look around the traps.

JG Mate,

Been going through a lot of your recent photos. You could sell a lot of these. A new earner for you I think.

But don't STOP posting them please!

More great 'shots' Gryph. Brings back memories.

When I was a kid, I paid for all my reloading supplies with fox bounties. We (Warren and I)would take them to Oxford county and get $4.00 each, (the in-charge ladies didn't even want us to open the fertilizer bags) they just paid for however many we said were there - we were always honest because you never knew if they'd want to look.

We'd then take them over to North Dorchester Township Office and we'd get another $5.00 per fox. We had to cut off the right ear before they'd pay us as they paid only for the right ear, but watched us cut them off after they'd identified the foxes as foxes. They knew us a bit better than the nice ladies over in the Oxford office.
