Some bird pics
      #193887 - 16/11/11 04:42 PM

I set up a hide in a spare bedroom with curtains and clothes pegs to capture the New Holland Honey Eaters feeding on the Callistemon flowers.

Got a scrub Wren below my cam as well.

Wow! Brilliant photos. You are inspiring me to try to get some photos this summer when there are a lot of parrots around here.

Wonderful with the bottlebrush flower beside.

Thats what I thought John, its great contrast between the bird and flower, they look even better in real life.
I swap a few pics with Sville and as most European people he love`s the colour of our birds so go out and get some nice Sth Oz parrots for sure.

Was on the phone with one of our good NE members last night , and was sitting outside in the cool on the verandah with the cordless phone.

Now my GSP Blitzen has been staring into a Bouganvillea Bush many times on recent nights. Thought he was pointing at a rat or mouse. But last night, he took off and lept high into the air. Then stopped and pointed at a patch of grass. Kept it up for a long time. So wondered over to have a look at what was so interesting ... it was a small immature bird, somewhat like the first one pictured above. The bird must have flown out of the bush in the dark, and Mr Hound lept into the air, caught it high in the air and it dropped into the grass. Pretty good aerial catch I think.

G'Day Fella's,

As already mentioned Gryphon, Great images!

Mate I need to get my self a digital SLR type camera and given the quality of All of your photography, I was wondering about your camera.
Gryh, if you don't mind, could you please bring us all up to speed on what you are using.

Merry Christmas to all!
