Deerhunting
      #19340 - 21/09/04 09:12 PM

Historically we're not very used to deerhunting in my area. But during the last years I think we actually have got more deer than moose in our forests where I live here in Norway. Traditionally we are more common to hunting for moose. I find it quite difficult to hunt deer in the forests where I live. In western territories it's easier when the deers are coming down from the mountains in the evening to feed on the farmers fields in the valleys. But here, in the deep forests it's not easy to get them. Moose is much easier. And the dogs are not able to hold the deer for long, such as they are able to with a moose.
Do you think I should try to stalk for the deer, or should I sit still on the same spot, waiting for them, hoping they will pass the place? Or do you have better ideas?

I like to stalk deer if possible, but it is much easier to wait them out if you know where they will be feeding or drinking. We have been out playing with the elk the last couple of evenings and are fired up for the upcoming season.Good luck on your hunt!!
