Took my "significant other" to eastern Montana over the weekend as she drew an antelope tag for that area..the antelope really took a hit there last winter..lots of snow and cold..then a really cold wet spring..numbers are down substantially from 2 years ago...
Anyway---we spotted 4 early in the morning about 1200 yards out.. we snuck through the really high clover until we ran out of cover then belly crawled to 204 yards..she shot him with a 22.250--he ran about 30 yards and tipped over--perfect shot through the lungs..she was incredibly happy as you can see--she then skinned and quartered him out...perfect...
Thank you
Ripp

Good show! Thanks for sharing the hunt with us. In the past, I've hunted Pronghorn in the Broadus area in Eastern Montana, and also up near Glascow in North East Montana. Pronghorn hunting is one of my favorites.

Hey that's a dandy!
I always love it when a gal uses a "Gal-sized" rifle to kill a critter that often we Guys bore-up somewhat to kill.
Do critters get tougher when a man is standing behind the rifle?
Or do women just shoot better than we do.......?

So where is the pic of RIPP kicked back with a sundowner inhand while the Lady works the knife??

I have gotten really busy and busy and busy this summer --so didnt do much reloading yet..actually just used a nosler 50gr ballistic tip..punched a hole clear through and the exit was about the size of a silver dollar coming out having taken a rib with it...impressive I thought considering the speed it was traveling at and the relatively close distance...

no photo of me kicked back-- but did manage to make us a couple of "Moscow Mules" to enjoy..

As to caliber---agree--have actually been going to a lighter caliber in the past few years for deer sized game and smaller---really like the 220 Swift or 22-250---for antelope ---have used the 6-284 as well--incredibly effective...

You know what they say.."I'd rather be lucky than good any day"...

And YES...you should do that sooner than later...life is short...
