Does anyone know anything about a Jules Bury double? There is one for sale on Auction Arms for 3500.

Just curious about the name.

I beleive they are/were Belgian. Usually sound and serviceable and the 9.3 is a very good cartridge.

Jules Bury was a reputed Liège (Belgium) gunmaker of the first half of the 20th century. His handmade and engraved doubles, smooth or rifled, are still highly praised.

Rifle is still being offered, auctionarms 6037542, apparently none of the bids reached reserve. Very short barrels, straight, grip, light weight.

Actually its strange seeing that rifle. Unless I am mistaken I used to own it. While I can;t confirm the serial numbers it appears identical to the one I had. The gun is a restocking with lite brown French Walnut and the length of pull was even a bit long for me at 6'3", The Smith who redid the stock was Fred Richardson of Essex Mass who was about 6'6" and he loved diamond gripped stocks, which is what that one has. It used to have a dark perch bellied stock. It is very light but when you snug in in tight and roll its fun to use. Hated to sell it but that's another story.
