How about an old worn out Cogsworth&Harrison...in .318WR

That Coggy has character.

What's the bore like ?

I have found most 318's have good bores.

Dang - I had a pair of Cogsworth&Harrisons in .375H&H go through my hands 35 years ago and I let them go - could have had them both for about $175.00 total. Dang.

They were well used, but in a lot better conditon than that one.
Nice!

Casper 50,
Nice to see a passion for the classics here in Alaska. A .275 rigby in any usable and restorable rifle is a find. I have a Banner Mauser in 7x57 that shoots very well with 175 gr loads and fairly close to sights. My other is an FN carbine length '98 action rifle that shoots the 175s well, but seems to have a short through like it was intended for 145 gr.

I say restore with a competent smith that works on this type. I don't know anyone in Alaska.
Todd Johnson of Lone Star in Pearland TX has done this type of work. He shows one of my M46 Husqvarnas on his websight. It is the one with the original cock on closing 9.3x57.
Todd restored the Osa Johnson 9.3x62 featured there as well. It was in similar condition. I examined the rifle a couple years ago before the restoration.

Good to see some Alaskans that shoot other than stainless and plastic.

Not worth restoring. Send to me for destruction.
