How many reviewers in Aust write an honest review, not just "damning it with faint praise" ?
The articles in the ADA Magazine ? (Doug Read ?)

G'Day Fella's,
Please see my posting on the "Mauser Discussion Forum" section, re as a reply to this thread.
500 Nitro, whilst there is no shortage of "Pay For" gun review's out there, from my readings those done by Guns & Game (Aust), seem to be pretty honest in their findings.

Eggzackery,
The common advertorial press is limited with "reviews" that infrequently cater to reality at the expense of offending the advertisers.

Yes, Good one, I would agree with that, Briel Jackson (and others) are pretty honest in their assessments.
I've had it said to me to get a product reviewed adverts have to be placed.

G'Day Fella's,
Further to the Straight Pull rifle theme, I also see, that www.herrons.com.au are the agents for the Finnish made Lynx range of center fire rifles. See www.lynxrifles.com/eng/ for more info! This includes the Lynx 94 (Hunter & Target), which is a Straight Pull design but appears to have a handle off a Garden Spade to grab hold of, to actuate the bolt! Click on "Pictures", for a good view of how these rifles lock-up! Given this, it seems to be quite a simple (Read; minimal amount of parts, which = Good!), mechanical design and the fact that it, I assume was designed and made in Finland, it will probably be a practical and usable rifle.
Edited by Homer; Lynx Rifles, appears to be a small enterprise and also make a Three Lug (Model X.O & X.X.O) Turn Bolt, rifle design in some Big Boomers! And if what we are shown is correct, there appears to be a lot of hand work conducted by the Lynx staff, in assembling and "Finnishing" (Pun Intended), these firearms!
Real Nice!!!
FYI, the Retail Price for the Lynx 94 Hunter, would be in the $5500.00+ AUD range, for the Standard model, and no price available, for the XO and XXO models, at present!
Hope that helps

One of the members who posts occasionally here, Gurinder Pratap Singh Basra from New York, a good friend of mine, bought a Merkel Helix and didn't like it one bit. From what I remember, this was one of the first rifles imported into the USA and he returned it to the dealer who sent it back to Merkel. I'll let Gurinder know about this thread and ask him to post about his experience. I remember that Merkel asked him for his feedback in detail when they took the rifle back, which I thought was a positive thing. At the very least, they seemed interested in learning what a dissatisfied client did not like about their product.

Hello Everyone,
As Mehul mentioned, I did have a Merkel Helix in 300 win mag for a few days. Aesthetically an eye candy, but after a couple of trips to the range and having fired 30 rounds I was dissatisfied with the rifles performance and returned it to Merkel through the dealer. The rifle had feeding issues and jammed frequently. I had this experience when this rifle was introduced, I am sure Merkel jumped on client feedbacks and made the required improvements.
