Does anyone have any experience with the Ballistic Products dangerous game slug that weighs in at 1 1/8 oz? Can it reach 1600fps in a 2 3/4" chambering.

These are nice shooting slugs and very easy to load. In a cheddite 2 3/4" hull with 45 grn imr4756 they were close to the 1600 fps mark. Individual barrel groups were usually two inches or less at 75 yards. They would lead the bore some but no more so than a foster slug. Some lube would surely help.
Stuck one into the chest of a Whitetail doe that was facing me at 55 paces. I was on higher ground so shot was a little low. Drove into front of chest travelled down to brisket bone, split 8" of brisket, deflected upward at slight angle and travelled through gut and came to rest under the skin int the flank. These slugs are about the right hardness in my opinion. after splitting brisket and travelling approx. 3' through the animal there was relatively little damage to the slug and more importantly it did not break up. Slugs fired into sand did not deform either. this slug lost no weight other than dropping the attached wad.
