We got within 20 metres of the group of pigs that were resting after feeding on a buffalo carcass and she shot the pig herself in the head (.22). No danger of her becomig a pig killing bacon buster though. While creeping in towards the pigs, she saw a desert flower on the ground and said, "what a lovely flower, i should pick it", this was when we were stalking right in there... 11years old / Winchester .22.
I must admit, i needed to finish it off (i had the .458). the pigs then took off, straight at us (they didn't have a clue we were there) and i managed to shoot a big sow before they were gone...

Hi Dok,
Don't be disheartened, she is a young lady and may / should come around. Just look at the 'Boddington' family, both parents hunted but the daughter didn't like it UNTIL... then she became a Safari tragic like the rest of us....
It is nice to see but softly, softly catches the monkey....
Cheers,
Jeff Gray

She is only eleven and girls like flowers.
Even if she turns out not being interested in hunting in the future, she is still out there with you now.
Good on the lass for her first pig. Good start!

Thanks 93 mouse, i still struggle with the photo posting.
Don't get me wrong. I was over the moon and I found it quite funny about the flower (after all she is a girl). She already has asked when we can go again. My two younger boys are keen as mustard to get out too. I don't expect her to remain interested in hunting when she gets older but you never know and while she is, we are having a good time.
We had a great time, talked a lot, saw buffalo, scrub cattle and some big crocs. Great weekend.
cheers

Great work mate.
My 4 year old daughter comes with me hunting and loves seeing the dogs work.

Good stuff.
BTW I have taken many dozens of photos of Australian Central Desert flowers in bloom (when driving up) to post up one day for the enjoyment of all the "guys" on here.
Maybe better on the NE facebook pages where we a lot of female hunters and shooters.
