Is that a custom stocked M03 ?

If so, whom re-stocked it ?

Otherwise which model ?

I like it, classic lines. The bolt handle is nice to.

Puts my ugly extreme model to shame.

I meant to post more text before, sorry.
Its the Africa model with what Mialls called grade 8 timber. I was not keen when I first judged the timber but it has grown on me for sure since.
The bolt head costs lots more but I feel was well worth it.
I'm very surprised that for a bolt rifle it sure comes to the shoulder so very nicely.
This rifle also comes with the set trigger option. Upon getting it home and playing with it I must say that I am really very impressed with the quality of the build. I think its safe to say some rifles will be departing my safe soon to make way for more of these.

The stock has good classic lines. I bought a blank this year for a new stock for my extreme model. IMO simply you can't get the same quality walnut otherwise from any factory stock (usually) unless some exhorbitant price is paid. JMO.

Maybe you can tell me, I'll find out soon anyday soon as my barrels should be here anyday now. They should be here already, Aust Post must be slow.

What I would like to know is does your African model have the same matt finish as the extreme model (which is supposedly rather weatherproof)? Or is it a more glossy finish?

You're not wrong!

Yes I like the set trigger a lot, never had one before on one of my own rifles.

Good stuff.

With regards to the stock initially I wasn't taken by the grade of timber but I had agreed to buy and do not like backing out of such deals. I guess you could say I had buyers remorse before even taking ownership. Now I'm pleased

I believe the metal finish in terms of texture and gloss to be identical to the extreme. It appears from the outset to be extremely well applied.

I have never had a set trigger before either and I'm really keen to play with it tomorrow and see how it goes.

I was unhappy with the accessory prices also but comprehending the quality and engineering in these guns now I'm more understanding now thats for sure.

I just need to put a Schmidt Bender Zenith on top and I'll be happy

If I were starting with an empty safe, the M03 would be my first acquisition.

Back from the range and all I can say is wow. Rifle is many times more accurate than its owner and the whole rifle as a unit is a pleasure.
For the guys on the forum who hunt (I dont) they would need to fine tune the feeding a little before heading off.
I will be trading in some other rifles for another couple of these.
I give this rifle a huge thumbs up

Nice rifle

Unfortunately this is the second M03 in .375H&H I've heard of having minor feeding troubles - not sure what it is about the .375H&H magazine that causes the hiccup

Out of curiousity, what other cartridges does the side of the mag state it's useful for? do they leave Miall's set up to feed four different chamberings at a pinch but none of them smoothly?

M03's aren't the only guns that have a problem feeding 375H&H's.

An din relation to "do they leave Miall's set up to feed four different chamberings at a pinch but none of them smoothly?"

Do you honestly think they test them before they leave ?

Depends if you get a scope fitted by them and ask to take it downstairs

I have no doubt they are not tested.
Looking at the design of the mag the feeding ramp is actually a part of the mag itself. I'm sure it would not take much to resolve. The plastic is mildly textured and I reckon some fine paper would sort it out.
I have put the rifle away so I'm unable to say how many calibres suit this particular magazine but I recall its several.
Im using SN Woodleighs and I reckon something a little pointier would feed OK as the rifle is. Despite this small issue the rifle is more than I expected
