Hi Clive,

Another very nice knife, did you make contact with Nitrox re becoming a 'Sponsor' as I feel that although you only make a few knives each year the cost of these 'Custom' knives costing between $250-$350 is more than fair considering the amount of work that goes into them and you being 75 years of age it has a two fold advantage, keeping the mind active and being able to pay the power bill as well.

Keep up the good work and good luck,

Cheers,

Jeff Gray

That's a beautiful knife mate. I love the red lining on the scales and those rivets are a work of art in themselves.

This Knife now belongs to a Nitro Express member.Thank you.

You guys are cheap Aussie bastards, aren't you. {{{that'll win me more pints with the Moderators, won't it... }}}

The guy deserves more.

Very nice Clive, a fine sort of "Nessmuk" type.

Do you do your own heat treatment or start with a heat treated blank?

I like it muchly.

Clive,

Please answer my PM answering your enquiry on how to become a sponsor of the NE forums. The offer made there is very attractive for you. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I just recently purchased one of Clive's exquisite knives, it trully is a magnificent knife, excellent handling, superb lines and sharp beyond anything I have seen. It is by far the most handsome knife I have owned, thank you again Clive.

As an alternative you can buy Bohler and Sandvik steel types from a local supplier. Google Bohler Uddeholm Australia. Branches in NSW QLD? and VIC. Unless the US types are vacuum remelted they would be not quite up to the brands mentioned.(ore type etc)

G'day kamilaroi,I would willingly buy from Aus.but I am a hobby maker and only buy small amounts.

The last time I tried to buy from them I did NSW Qld etc and was told if I bought an 8'x4' sheet [I think that was the size] they would cut it for me at a good price.I then tried to buy it from America because they said they sold to small orders but they just referred me back to Brisbane.

Also I consider ATS34 a very good Hunters Steel and so far never had a complaint from any hunter.

Thanks for your comment.

Clive.

^ Thanks mate, the last time I bought from Bohler they had a range of offcuts, I presume from their big (EDM?) projects and were more than willing to sell what you might need.

BTW they used to have a fact sheet listing their respective steels properties and on the current list they have bar steel.
