I know this is for "BIG"; but
I think more knowledge of subject
would be on this forum.
I just aquired a pre 64 modle 70 in
300H&H it is a good shooter.Do you
have favorite factory loads or reloads?
I was suprised at the managable recoil
with the Winchester 180 fail safe.

I have had one like yours for about 50 years I suspect..I shoot the 200 gr. Nosler partition almost exclusively in it with a case full of old surplus 4831 for near 3000 FPS but you cannot get that with the new H4831 or IMR-4831 I don't think, but 2800 is sure reasonalbe with the new powder...

At any rate you have a dandy long range rifle that will play with the big boys any day...and with the heavy bullets just might leave them in the bar ditch.....

Love my Ruger #1 in 300 H&H. It's VERY accurate.

I'm currently testing the Hornady and Nosler 220gr bullets with RL22 in the 65-67.5gr range.

Thanks for the comments. I have
not seen "bar ditch" in a long
time. Any time my Dad talked about
a car going off the road they went
into a bar ditch. I thought they just
could not spell and were refering to
the bar locals.
