I use Mobil 1 synthetic grease. I have tried all kinds over the years, and this is what I settled on. Could not get it where I live, so had a friend get some for me.

Every hinge gun or rifle leaving my shop has this on it when it leaves here.

A big tube will last forever. I use a lot, as I work on quite a few trap guns also.

I have used Kilimanjaro grease for years and it is first rate!

I remembered this old thread when I went looking for my tube of Lucas Red n' Tacky #2.
Sure looks like the same stuff. Somewhere - perhaps here on the Forum - someone recommended this very grease.

I'd guess 95%+ of the "special firearms lubricants" are just repackaged industrial lubes- with the price jacked up 300%.
