Of course. Anything with a new barrel. Even a 6.5 Carcano!!
I've heard of some rebored/barrelled to 7.62x39 which would be an interesting chambering. Lots of ammo availability here in the USA and a good deer caliber, too.
I had a 7.62x39 CZ527 for a few years and really like it except...it was one of those with the unfixable feed problem and cost me a second dog from a pack of marauding dogs. I got rid of it.

to be true, I had not much time for this same like the other rifles. to much work and other problems around.

No gain twist rifling in the barrel. Barrel length is original. The rifle wood was really botched. I'm on the home stretch of the build. The trigger guard is really giving me fits with rust bluing. Having a difficult time getting it to blacken.

Hopefully, I will be able to post pics of the competed project soon.

Ah, that's good.
When you said cut down I thought you were referring to the barrel. Later models were conventional twist anyway so even if the barrel of a late model long rifle was cut down there would be no loss.
These are neat rifles. A bunch have come in over the last few years but the ones I investigated were really in bad shape. I'd like to tinker with one. The original 6.5 chambering is actually a darn good and well-designed cartridge.
