I would say so. Cose to the .35 Rem., power wise.
Hard but not brittle, they would penetrate well.

The grey colour is an epoxy paint, its on there to give a hard exterior for a pantograph stylus to run on without damaging the stylus or stock. The stock is only a pattern I made for reproduction, once I'm happy with it, I'll send it away and get a nice wood stock made from this pattern.

I tend to make my own stocks to get the shape I want, not everyones cup of tea, but I make them for me not others....

How many times can the pattern be used without damage, I would expect.

Here in Australia, there are still a few pantographs around. A bloke I grew up with in the '70's owns a specialist timber company and recently finished some shot-gun stocks for some company, so I'm going to give him a try and see how they come out.
As for for the epoxy coating, we're about to find out...I think a lot of it depends on the operator.

Pattern in the 1917 (~2:57) vid appears to be wood.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39wM-lzDWE4

That in the Garand (~6:00) metal of some sort.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Fg7j53qo0g

At the end of the '17 vid...that "slushing"! Uhg!!

thats interesting footage, you see how much different machinery they had then and how much manpower to make such bolt action rifles.
must be the same for all the different actions.

Yeah! What was the 'slushing'?
Was it like a coating to protect everything like cosmoline?
