Based on the comments by those who have been there on UN Peacekeeping missions, I'd say "lean".
I certainly hope to be wrong!!
Someone not long ago linked to a Sudanese outfitter's page presenting a small Greek (?) living legend, and looking at the photos there simply blew my mind away.
Another upcoming prospect, I hope, will within a foreseeable future be Uganda.
Hopefully.... Those countries have little to live on, a lot of fighting groups that move between the countries seeking protection in one while fighting in another. But: looking at the development over the past decade vs. the gloominess of their future over the previous two, one remains hopeful.
I'm 36, I can still wait for a few decades for some new countries to open.

The boundary between north and south Sudan and the Ethiopian/Etritrean borders are shot out. You might get something to the southwest but it's real tiger country for lawkeepers.
